While humans who evacuated Louisiana because of Hurricane Gustav got a chance to return home Wednesday, pets that were in New-Orleans-area animal shelters are being relocated to Bay County. On Wednesday, Shona Rish of Panama City adopted one evacuated pet, Goldie, at the Bay County Animal Control Facility near Cedar Grove. Rish tested out the dog at her home Monday and taught her to shake hands and sit. We don't know anything about her, except she's a good girl, Rish says. (Terry Barner / The News Herald)
